Dutch Open Hackathon 2016 Final Day!

Sunday, December 11 marked the demo day of the third Dutch Open Hackathon. After a successful 48 hours of coding, along with an exclusive police assignment, our hackers came to present their final work with a 3-minute demo and 2-minute Q&As.

49 projects were in competition: 12 went to the finals and only one was set to win the amazing six-day trip to San Francisco. There were four challenging tracks for the ultimate way to drive global innovation: At Home; Doing Business; In The City; and On The Go.

All four tracks were judged by a panel that was comprised of representatives from our group of sponsors, including KLM, Police, Schiphol, Post NL, Philips, Kamer van Koophandel, and CIC.

Now the moment we’ve been waiting for… Here are the winners of the #dutchhack16:

Final Winner – “Re:software” : they’ll spend six days in San Francisco!

Track Winner ‘At Home’ – “Beatsync”

Beatsync builds an app to use your favourite music tracks to regulate your stress level, from work to work out using Geodan, Philips, Spotify API.

Track Winner ‘On The Go’ – “META”

META builds a interphase to improve the in-airport experience using Schiphol API and Amazon’s Alexa.

Track Winner ‘In The City’ – “Re:software”

Track Winner ‘Doing Business’ – “regtxt or Registry Text”
